Patient participation group:
The role of a patient participation group (PPG) is to act as a voice of patients in decisions that affect any aspect of the Practice's work and care for patients.
We were one of the first Practices to start a PPG. Ours has been running for over 5 years.

Ethnic minority groups are under-represented in our group at the moment. Patients from any of these Groups are invited to write to the group chair via the Business Manager to express their interest.
Our group meets approximately monthly on a Monday morning. The role of the group is to represent the voice of our patients in decisions about future service, improvements, problems, etc
This is an informal, friendly and lively group with about 14 members, some of whom have represented patients since the group was set up.  Not everyone can attend every meeting but we usually have 8 to 10 members at every meeting.
Some examples of things the group have been involved in include improving services to the recently-bereaved, the wording of patient leaflets, signage around the building, access for the disabled and future plans for our telephone system.
We are also setting up a virtual patient group with whom we would like to communicate by email. This would involve no more than responding to an occasional email perhaps with a short questionnaire or seeking your views on a specific issue. If you would like to register to join this group, please complete the registration form and drop it off at the Practice. You will be able to leave the group at any time simply by emailing an unsubscribe message to mailto:virtualppg.k83026.nhs.net Note that this email address is not regularly monitored and that only unsubscribe messages will be responded to.
