Prescriptions:
Survey - how well do we communicate with our patients?

In conjunction with our patient participation group we are undertaking a short survey better to understand how effectively we communicate with you. Consisting of just 10 tick box questions, this will take only a few moments of your time.

Thank you for helping us.

Click on the SystmOnline icon anywhere on the website to order your repeat medication.

Please note it is your responsibility to check prescriptions before taking them to the pharmacy.

We require 2 working days to turn round your repeat prescription requests.

Please note that, for reasons of safety, we do not accept requests for repeat medication by 'phone.

We are seeing increasing numbers of patients who claim to have "lost" their prescription or have only realised at the last moment that their medication has nearly run out. Giving priority to such requests means that we can struggle to turn round requests for those patients who do request their medication in good time. Patients who persistently lose or leave it to the last second to request their medication may find we can only issue sufficient medication to meet their short-term needs.

In rare cases where a same day prescription is genuinely required, these will be available to be picked up after 17:00 only.

We are now able to offer all patients the opportunity to request their prescriptions over the Internet - no more trips to the surgery to drop your request in!  If you want your local pharmacy to pick up your prescription, please make sure you tell us which pharmacy will be picking up your medication at the time of your order. This service uses a secure ordering system and requires registration. You may download an online services registration form from the downloads page.

Most local pharmacies offer a prescription reminder and collection service. Some will also deliver. Please check with your preferred Pharmacy to see what services they offer.

Your repeat medication can now ordered from Pharmacy 2 U and delivered to your home or anywhere in the country - free of charge. You pay only the usual prescription charges.

Sometimes, patients or carers with repeat prescriptions continue to get more medicines than they really need and stockpile them at home. This is a growing problem that not only wastes huge quantities of medicines but costs the NHS across the East Midlands £30million a year.

A new website has been developed as part of a major new campaign dedicated to raising awareness of the serious problems of medicine waste.
