Flu Vaccinations 2025
We are currently awaiting confirmation of the delivery date for the 2025 seasonal influenza vaccines. Once this date is confirmed, patients who are eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination will receive an invitation to book their appointment.
Flu clinics are expected to begin in early October.
Who is eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine?
The NHS offers the flu vaccine every autumn and winter to individuals at higher risk of serious illness from influenza. For the 2025/26 season, eligibility includes:
- People aged 65 and over
- Individuals aged 50 to 64 with certain health conditions
- People with long-term health conditions such as:
- Chronic respiratory diseases (e.g. asthma requiring steroid treatment, COPD)
- Heart conditions (e.g. coronary heart disease, heart failure)
- Neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s disease, MS, cerebral palsy)
- Diabetes
- Weakened immune systems (e.g. due to chemotherapy, HIV)
- Sickle cell disease or those without a spleen
- BMI of 40 or above
- Pregnant women
- Residents of care homes
- Carers (including those receiving Carer’s Allowance)
- People living with someone who has a weakened immune system
- Frontline health and social care workers (usually vaccinated via their employer)
