Text messaging and appointment reminders

Patients who register a mobile phone number with us will receive an appointment reminder text message. An appointment can be cancelled by contacting the practice directly.

We may occasionally send health promotion text messages. These include, for example, reminders to book a flu vaccination or an offer of help to stop smoking. These messages may also allow you to directly book an appointment without the need to call or visit the practice prior to your appointment.

Clinicians may also send you help and advice as part of a consultation.

Most patients find the reminders very useful, and they do help to reduce the number of wasted appointments but you can opt out of receiving all text messages by calling us or submitting a request in writing.
